There are many different groups and ministries at OLQP that offer opportunities to connect with others who share similar interests or a desire to share time and gifts to continue to grow as a community in the likeness of Christ.

Liturgical Ministry Volunteers from OLQP being commissioned by Bishop Vincent Long at the 2025 Commissioning Mass, St Patrick’s Cathedral Parramatta.

These ministers assist in the set-up and celebration of Masses. They also serve as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion at Masses.

Altar Servers are younger people of the parish who assist the priest and acolytes/adult servers during the Mass.

Also known as Ministers of Communion, these ministers distribute the Body and Blood of Christ at Masses and Communion services.

The music ministry is a diverse ministry with many different bands, choirs and performers. Their role is to lead the Parish in worship through music.

Ministers of the Word, or readers, are responsible for proclaiming the Word of God at Masses and Communion services.

People in this ministry prepare the presentation slides, Commentary and Prayers of the Faithful for weekend Masses.

Church Cleaners are instrumental in keeping our churches clean, creating a neat and respectful environment for the worshipping community.

Members of this ministry enhance the environment of the Church with floral arrangements for weekend Masses and special occasions.

The collectors’ ministry is responsible for collecting money for the mission of the Diocese of Parramatta and the Parish at all Masses.

The ministry of hospitality extends the welcome of OLQP Parish to all who attend Masses, be they parishioners or visitors, including a cup of tea or coffee after Sunday Mass.

Multimedia ministers have a thorough understanding of the multimedia systems in the church, displaying prepared presentations to accompany the participation at Mass.

The counting ministry counts all monies collected by collectors at Masses, including Planned Giving to support our Parish and the Diocesan Development Fund.

The Sacristan is a caretaking ministry for the Altar and its accouterments, ensuring that the Liturgy space is kept worshipfully presentable.

Assists the Sacristan with the caretaking of the Altar and its surrounds.

The Welcoming Team extends the welcome of OLQP Parish to people who come to an event or Mass.

This ministry involves Ministers of Communion taking Holy Communion to the housebound and to nursing homes.

Our children’s liturgy ministers break open the Word of God for our children each week at Sunday morning Masses.

Youth Ministry leaders lead youth ministry events that cater to young people at all stages of their faith journey.

Special Religious Educators (SRE) Catechists take the Catholic faith to state schools in our local community.

The Baptismal Team prepares parents and families by providing formation for the Sacrament of Baptism.

The Sacramental Team prepares children and provides formation for the completion of their Sacraments of Initiation.

The liturgy team is a consulting team that discusses and advises best practice and ways to improve the Liturgical experience in the parish.

The Finance Committee is responsible for assisting the Parish Priest with the financial stewardship of the Parish to achieve our Parish goals.

This ministry provides support and accompaniment to people in the parish who have recently lost someone through death.

This committee is responsible for the organisation of the annual Parish Festa and the fundraising events associated with it.

The RCIA is a program that educates adults on and initiates them into the Catholic Church.

This committee is responsible for the planning and implementation of works and maintenance projects on the parish property.

The PPC is a group of parishioners who meet regularly to discuss the vision for the direction and growth of the Parish.

There are many prayer groups in our parish that meet at different times and pray in many ways.

Vinnies is instrumental in providing assistance to families and individuals who are most in need of help in their weekly lives.

Members gather in prayer and help the parish in a variety of ministries.

The Social Justice Group meets monthly to bring to life the mission of the parish to respond to the needs of the community and areas of social justice in the area and beyond.
