Catholics believe that prayer is a dialogue with God, a way to communicate with the divine. We believe that God is always present and listening and that prayer is a way to open up our hearts and minds to His love and guidance. Whatever form it takes, prayer is an essential part of Catholic life. It’s a way for Catholics to strengthen our faith, find comfort in difficult times, and grow closer to God.
There are many different forms of Catholic prayer, from the formal prayers recited during Mass to the quiet meditations that occur in the privacy of one’s home. Some Catholics find solace in the repetition of traditional prayers like the Rosary, while others prefer to pray in their own words, expressing their thoughts and feelings directly to God.
For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.
Matthew 18:20

Parish Prayer
To Grow as a Community in the Likeness of Christ
We invite you to join us in this prayer for our parish family,
asking God to guide us as we grow together in love and discipleship.
Loving and Faithful God,
You have called us to be Your people, gathered in the name of Your Son,
to grow as a community in the likeness of Christ.
We thank You for the gift of our parish family,
for the friendships, the faith, and the opportunities to serve that draw us closer to You.
Send forth Your Holy Spirit to guide our priests, and all who lead us in faith.
Grant them wisdom, courage, and compassion,
that they may listen to Your voice and shepherd us according to Your will.
Holy Spirit, dwell within each heart in our community.
Open our minds to Your truth, our ears to hear Your call,
and our hands to serve with joy and humility.
Strengthen us to be faithful disciples of Jesus,
living witnesses of His mercy and love in all that we do.
Lord Jesus, You have entrusted each of us with unique gifts and treasures.
Help us to recognize these blessings and to use them generously
for the building of Your Kingdom on earth.
May our talents bring hope to the weary,
light to those in darkness,
and a welcoming home to all who seek You.
Father of all, make our parish a beacon of Your presence—
a place of prayer, fellowship, and service,
where every person is valued, every voice is heard,
and every heart is drawn closer to the heart of Christ.
We place our mission and our lives in Your loving hands,
trusting that You will continue to guide us
as we strive to grow as a community in the likeness of Your Son.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord,
who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.
Amen.
